# Deleting your account

> How to delete your account, what has to happen first, the 30 days before it's gone, and what we keep.

You can delete your account yourself. It takes effect 30 days after you ask, and you can change your mind until then.

## Before you start

Three things stop a deletion until they're sorted:

- **You have a plan that hasn't ended.** Cancel it first, then wait for it to end. A cancelled website plan runs to the end of the period you've paid for, and you can delete your account after that. See [Downgrade or cancel](https://brokerandagent.com/help/billing/downgrade-or-cancel).
- **Other people are members of your workspace.** Remove them first.
- **You're a member of someone else's workspace.** Its owner removes you first.

A brokerage's workspace isn't deleted from the app. Email [support@brokerandagent.com](mailto:support@brokerandagent.com) and our team takes care of it.

## Delete it

1. Open **Account → Data & privacy** at account.brokerandagent.com.
2. Confirm it's you.
3. Type **DELETE** to confirm.

Right away, every session ends, your workspace is suspended, and we email you the date it will be deleted.

## The 30 days

Until that date, **Keep my account** cancels the deletion.

After 30 days, your workspace, your files, your photo, your account's records and your sign-in are deleted, and we email you to say it's done.

## What we keep

- **Invoices.** Stripe keeps your invoices, for tax.
- **Backups, for a while.** Deleted data can stay in our database backups for up to about 4 more weeks, until they roll over.

If you'd like a copy of anything first, see [Downloading your data](https://brokerandagent.com/help/account/download-your-data).
