Where we win
These are not really the same kind of product
dotloop is a transaction platform. It is good at that, it does not claim to be a CRM, and a large part of the industry already runs on it. If you compare it feature-for-feature against a front office you are comparing a component against a system, which is not useful to anyone.
The useful question is where you want the boundary. Running dotloop plus a CRM means two systems, two logins, and a deal whose history is split across both. Running Workspace means one, with the trade-off that you are moving off something your market may already be standardised on.
The network effect is the real argument for them
Transaction software gets more valuable when the agent on the other side of the deal uses it too. dotloop has that, in a lot of markets, and it is the single strongest reason to stay. We would rather name it than pretend the comparison is only about features and price.
What we would say against it is that the network effect applies to sharing documents, not to where your business lives. Plenty of agents keep a dotloop account for the deals that require it and run everything else somewhere sane. That is a perfectly reasonable setup, and our free tier costs nothing to try alongside.
Where dotloop is the better fit
If your brokerage mandates dotloop, that decision is already made. If your market runs on it heavily, the shared-document effect is worth something real. Worth knowing that plenty of agents keep an account for the deals that require it and run everything else somewhere better, and our free tier costs nothing to sit alongside.
Moving over
We do it for you. Contacts, notes, tags and history come across and we handle the mapping rather than sending you a template and wishing you luck. Workspace Free costs nothing and has no contact cap, so you can bring your whole database in, run it beside whatever you have now, and take as long as you like to be satisfied before turning anything off. Everything exports back out whenever you want it. Workspace Pro is $99 a month when you want the rest of it, or $59 if you also have one of our websites.
Common questions
How much does dotloop cost?
dotloop offers a free tier limited to around ten transactions, with a Premium plan reported at roughly $34.99 a month for unlimited transactions and additional features. Brokerage and team pricing is quoted separately. Confirm current pricing with the vendor.
Does Workspace replace dotloop?
For most agents, yes: transaction management, document storage and e-signature are included in Workspace, on the free plan, with no cap on the number of transactions. The reasons to keep dotloop are a brokerage mandate or a market where everyone you deal with already uses it, since shared documents are easier when both sides are on the same platform.
Is your e-signature legally valid?
Yes. Electronic signatures are legally binding in the United States under the ESIGN Act and UETA, and our signing captures the audit trail those rely on: who signed, when, and from where. It is included on every plan, including free, rather than sold as a separate seat the way DocuSign is at around $45 a month for its real estate edition.
Can I use Workspace for transactions but keep my CRM?
Yes. Workspace Free is free for everyone and nothing requires you to move your CRM into it. Plenty of people will start by using it for transactions, documents and signing, and keep their pipeline wherever it lives today. If it earns the rest of the business later, that is the point at which Pro makes sense.
